Virginia Housing Solutions Program (VHSP)

The Virginia Housing Solutions Program (VHSP) helps individuals and families in Southside Virginia who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes. This program is managed by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and collaborates with local partners, like The Improvement Association, to provide access to safe and stable housing.

VHSP focuses on both preventing homelessness and helping people quickly find permanent housing. Services include:

Homelessness Prevention – Assistance for households facing eviction to help them stay in their homes.
Rapid Re-Housing – Support for those who are already homeless to quickly move into affordable housing.
Coordinated Entry – A streamlined intake process that connects individuals to the right services fast.
Housing Stabilization – Ongoing support to help individuals maintain housing stability long-term.

The goal of VHSP is to reduce homelessness across Virginia by offering targeted, supportive services that keep people housed.
