Program Coordinator
Project Discovery, led by Program Coordinator Renita Lensey, empowers middle and high school students—especially first-generation and underserved youth—to prepare for life after graduation. Whether students plan to pursue college, the military, or a career, the program helps them set SMART goals, explore opportunities, and build the confidence and skills needed to succeed.

With over 25 years in customer service, 6 years in IT, and a lifelong passion for youth advocacy, Renita brings energy, empathy, and experience to her work. The program offers college application fee waivers, financial aid workshops, cultural experiences, and career exploration. Every student who completes the program leaves with a solid post-graduation plan. Recently recognized as the “Most Improved” program in the state, Project Discovery is not just about academics—it’s about creating moments of growth, connection, and hope. Renita says it best: “Our young people are important and capable of anything with a little guidance and support.”
